Your daily two hours

The routine, then the roadmap

Two hours a day is 170+ hours before an early-October test. That is a high-score budget if the hours are structured. Here is what any single day looks like, followed by the week-by-week syllabus and the full phase plan.

The 2-hour daily template

Same shape every day. Only the topic changes.

0:00
Flashcards, 10 min. Clear whatever is due in the deck. This warms you up and protects yesterday's learning.
0:10
Notes, 25 min. Read today's module (see the syllabus below). Work every example in the module by hand before reading its answer.
0:35
Practice, 50 min. Do today's question block untimed in Phase 1, timed from Phase 2. Star anything shaky.
1:25
Review, 25 min. The most valuable block. Rework every miss from scratch in the review pile. Say out loud why the right answer is right and why your pick was wrong.
1:50
Log, 10 min. One line per miss: what it tested, why you missed it, the correct move. Patterns in this log are your syllabus for next week.
The couple rule: at the end of each week, each of you teaches the other your shakiest topic for ten minutes. Explaining a concept exposes the gaps politely, before the exam does it rudely.

12-week syllabus

Mapped to an early-October first attempt. Each week names the note modules to read and where your practice minutes go.

After week 12: you see your score before sending. If it is short of target, weeks 13 to 17 become a retake cycle (16-day minimum gap) and you still finish well before the January Round 2 deadline. December belongs to essays.

Test-day strategy

Score is earned twice: once by knowing the material, once by managing the clock. These rules are worth real points.

  • Timing checkpoints. Quant gives about 2:08 per question, so after question 10 you should have roughly 24 minutes left. Verbal gives about 1:57, so after question 12 you want around 22 minutes left. Data Insights gives 2:15, so at the halfway mark you want about 22 minutes left. Glance at the clock only at these checkpoints, then stop looking.
  • The 2-minute bail. When a question stalls past two minutes, pick your best remaining choice, flag it, and move. One hard question is never worth two easy ones, and the scoring punishes a rushed final stretch more than a single miss.
  • Never leave a blank. Unanswered questions carry a penalty that a wrong guess does not. In the final minute, fill every remaining bubble.
  • Use your 3 edits. Each section lets you review flagged questions and change up to three answers before time runs out. Bank 3 to 4 minutes at the end for this pass. Change an answer only when you can name the specific error you made, since first instincts are right more often than second guesses.
  • Pick your section order once. You choose the order of the three sections at the start. Open with your strongest for momentum, or put your weakest first while you are freshest. Decide during practice tests and never revisit the choice on test day.
  • The retake math. You can retake after 16 days, up to five attempts in a rolling year, and you preview your score before sending it anywhere. An early-October first attempt leaves room for a November retake and still beats the January deadline by weeks. This turns attempt one into information rather than a verdict, which is worth remembering when the nerves arrive.

The phase plan behind the syllabus

Notes and practice

The three sections, in full

Sentence Correction, the essay, and geometry are gone as of the 2024 redesign. Data Sufficiency moved into Data Insights. Open each module, work its examples, then hit the question bank below it. Every answer you pick is saved to your progress.

Spaced repetition

Flashcards that come back when you need them

Each card lives in one of five boxes. "Got it" pushes its next visit further out (1, 3, 7, then 16 days). Miss it and it returns within minutes. The deck feeds you what you are about to forget, which is where memory actually sticks.

Your error log

Review pile

Everything you missed or starred lands here. Reviewing this list is worth more than fresh questions, since most of the score gain hides in the review.
